Cathedral and Photography in Cologne, Germany

In the days leading up to Germany, Daniel Wayne talked up the historic Cologne Cathedral and how it was a must see. Once we got there, I could see why. It was absolutely incredible, ENORMOUS and detailed. The cathedral took 600 years to construct (with breaks) and is over 750 years old. We climbed to the very top of the spiral staircase 15 minutes before closing and it was worth every quad-shaking step. Not only were the city views spectacular but being up close to the bell tower and antique stone work made me feel like a fruit fly in the long life of the structure.
After our trip through time, I am embarrassed to say that I was in a panic because I lost my 2nd pair of American Apparel MC Hammer pants (the first pair I lost on the last US tour) and they are my must have for travel comfort so I made the cab driver stop off at the closest AA while I ran in to pick up my 3rd pair. (Totally worth it. I wear them almost every day). I know my husband thinks I'm crazy when I get OCD about things like "needing" a pair of pants but he made sure I got those pants come hell or high water. I am very lucky.

I got to take pictures from the photo pit in Cologne. I'm just sort of winging this whole concert photography thing but I love that you have to find the right rhythm, angle and light. In that way, it is like dancing ballet for me. The crowd was loud and energetic as I crawled between the medal barricade and the stage with one hand over my ear and the other trying to hold the camera level. It's rock n' roll.
