It's a Hard Rock Life For Us

We flew over to Baltimore, Maryland so the boys could perform an acoustic set for the grand re-opening of the Hard Rock Cafe. This is the show that gave us this opportunity to do this. We were so exhausted after a six a.m. flight that instead of my usual wander-about we went straight up to our hotels to nap.  To be honest, I don't remember much from the morning because I'm pretty sure I slept walked through the whole thing. I am not one for napping but this one way an absolute joy.

By mid-afternoon, it was time to rise and drive over to soundcheck. We could see the Hard Rock from the hotel lobby but I was too tired to protest the frivolous drive over, so I hopped in the van.
As each member of the band descended from the elevator, you could see that we weren't the only one's who had been out cold the last four hours. Bed-head galore.

The band sound checked and I walked next door to Barnes and Noble to pick up a copy of "Ender's Game." (BTW the book is amazing. Read it). After soundcheck, the band had a meet and greet and then went upstairs to rehearse and nail down the set list.

 Red Carpet
I saw girls weeping. True story. Strange and sweet.
^^This is a thing in Baltimore??

Guitar Smashing Ceremony
The Hard Rock's version of a ribbon cutting ceremony. Even the mayor was there;)

Acoustic Performance
Which included old school Imagine Dragons like "The River" and "Destination" and covers from those
late night cover gigs in smokey casinos like "Lovesong" by The Cure and "I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles)" by the Proclaimers, two of my all-time favorites.
**Not-so-interesting tid-bit: Going to and from the stage we had to walk through the kitchen which was the slipperiest thing I have ever walked on including an ice rink. Those cooks looked at us like fools skating through there in our combat boots.

  1. That looks like it was so much fun! Did you get a chance to see any of the boats out on the dock, or were there none out there? I was in Baltimore in 2010, and they had some floating boat museums. I love this pictures you take!
