Last week when we were in Seattle, we were major tourists and spent a fortune on the combo tickets to go up in the Space Needle and see the Chihuly Glass Exhibit. It was a 5 minute walk from the venue and we had never been so why not? It was pretty great. We had just woken up so look out for the sleepy eyes and sweat pants. Not apologizing.
My pirate.
I have seen this blown glass in The Bellagio gardens but this was a much larger, more impressive exhibit.
My favorite room.
We both loved this sculpture so we took a photo in front of it.
After our walk, we got a delicious breakfast from a local cafe. I got the most amazing brioche breakfast sandwich and Daniel Wayne got a buckwheat pancake with eggs and pork belly. I also tried some poutine (french fries with some sort of gravy and cheese) and wow, I did not know what I was missing. It was so rich we only had a couple bites but totally worth it. I'm excited for when we get to Montreal so I can have it again.
We walked back to the venue just as it was starting to rain. Within the next few hours, it was a full downpour so I am glad we were able to get out earlier. Touring is like being on a train that won't stop so quiet mornings like that are the ones that keep you from going insane. Perfect date.
That night my old college roommate Carly** came to the show and it felt so good to get together with an old friend, catch up, eat red vines and watch a rock concert. I love her.
**Carly: I linked your blog in the hopes that you will keep me updated on your life:)
