3rd Anniversary

You may think we're lame for the way we celebrated our wedding anniversary today.
We drove 17 hours from Phoenix to Austin in a bus.
We didn't buy each other gifts. Life has been too crazy.
I wore leggings and no makeup to dinner.
But to us, it was pretty great.
Once we got to our hotel, we threw down our luggage and made an 8:45 reservations for the closest high-rated place we found on Yelp, The Roaring Fork. I had the option of getting dressed up for the celebration or putting my feet up and cuddling with my husband and I chose the latter. The restaurant was a half mile walk but when we stepped out of the hotel there was a Pedicab (bike taxi) right outside the lobby doors. There's something romantic about that, right? It was actually a lot of fun and our driver was a hippy wanderer working for tips and I get people like that.
The restaurant was delicious! It was reasonably priced American fine dining. We had incredible queso dip for an appetizer and then I had the "big a**" burger (which it was) and Daniel Wayne had the filet mingnon and then we split a mexican creme brûlée for dessert. Our waiter was a tall, soft spoken, handsome man in his late 20s/early 30s and we are 99% sure he is a serial killer. This place gets my stamp of approval, if you are ever in Austin but keep your eyes open for the waiter, Ted Bundy.

We finished the night off with an on-demand movie and some much needed relaxation. We have an actual day off in Austin tomorrow so maybe we'll do our anniversary up right. This day was surprisingly awesome though so we'll see if we can top it.
We had no idea of what curve balls life would throw us when we got married three years ago with $1500 in our account and no idea what we were going to do or where we were going to do it. At the time it didn't seem so crazy to me and to be honest, it still doesn't. If he'd ask me to, I'd do it all again. We are two drifters that found each other some how and are holding on for dear life because that's what you have got to do in this industry. I don't know how I got so lucky to have found him but I'm grateful everyday. HAPPY THREE YEARS BABY!!
